Aug 26, 2004 | Love us

Aug. 26. 2004 was the start of something new for me. I had returned home from college for  summer vacation. And I was on a journey  to find my next step in life. But I soon learned that when God has a plan, let him lead the way and just follow it.

My 1st year in college was great  but my heart desired something more. The college thing was cool but it was something I no longer wanted. What I truly wanted was a family. I remember this one night in particular I laid in my bed in my college dorm room and cried out to God saying "God, please hear my prayer, I am ready to start a family." This was something I wanted every since I was 13. A family of my own and  I wrote every detail about it down in my diary. But after that night,  I was not expecting God to  answer my prayer during my summer vacation.  A prayer that would lead me directly into the path of my husband.  A path that would give me exactly what I desired.  The day that  I met my husband. I KNEW he was my husband. Before meeting him, I did not believe in love at first sight but when it happen to me I soon learned that it is true. The first day we met was spent talking to each other. It was as if our souls were having a conversation that our bodies were just listening to. It was as if we were catching up on the passed  time that we had without each other. We just talked. We talked about our lives our struggles and also the desires of our heart. And through that conversation, we found a beautiful commonality. We both wanted a family and we were very passionate about what this meant to the both of us.  So on Aug 26, 2004 He chose me. We settle down and started our family.  And From that day til now our bond has grew stronger and stronger 13 years and counting. The prayer that I asked God for in the 13 years ago is still being answered now. I have been blessed to receive everything that was written in my diary  from our son's dimple and our daughter's bubbly personality to how we speak positivity and encouragement  and share love in our household. Aug 26, 2004 was the start of something new.  I know now that meeting my husband was a divine intervention. One that set me on the path to my destiny.

Chap.5 My life without her. | 3 lbs of Pressure

Here is a excerpt from my book 3 lbs of Pressure.
It's my first day of Jr high school and I am super nervous.  I'm starting my 7th grade year at a  new school and also relieved that my summer vacation is finally over. On my way to  school,  My aunt Nikki and asks me " You OK?"  with a nervous smile , I reply "Yes, but I am a little scared."  After all we had been through over the summer, I was happy to start something new. This was the first time my aunt Nikki had taken me to school so this experience was new for the both of us.  As we begin our walk towards the school I became overwhelmed with emotions. This school was huge. It was bigger than the elementary school that I had previously attended with my middle sister Marshaya. And to make it worst, this was the first school that  I would attend without her. Before this we attended school  together. Now with a bigger school came a sea of students making  the first day of school very busy. There were times were I would search the crowd to find familiar faces from my previous elementary school, only to give a quick wave as my aunt and I rushed to claim a spot in a line that was stating to wrap around the building. As we lined up,  we were told were I would pick up my classroom schedule and locker number before entering the building to meet my first period teacher.  While we waited, my aunt adjusted and fix my backpack straps and did some last minute touch up's to my hair and outfit. She asked me if I had everything I need?  With a confused look, I responded "  I think so?" I looked to check how long the line was and started to notice how the other students were there with their mothers. As I  watched this, it made me really miss mine.  I started to think about her and wish she could be here with me on my first day. My thoughts of her bought tears to my eyes and my nervousness soon turned into sadness. My aunt notice the change in my demeanor. So she turned towards me, held my hands softly and said to me  " If this is too much and you want to go home. I perfectly understand." I  answered " No, I'll be OK."  I knew this was something I had to do. She wipe the tears  that had fell on my cheeks from my face and give me a hug. She reassured  me that everything was going to be OK and if my mom was there she would be so proud of me. The line started to get shorter  and shorter. And soon  I was given my schedule and locker number.  As I walked towards the entrance of the school,  I waved  good-bye to my aunt.  Entering  into the building  made me  realize  that  I would have to continue my life without my mom by my side.

All it took was 3lbs of pressure

Homcides lead breaking news stories and newspaper headlines with information about the victim(s), the nature of the crime and if possible,  potenial suspect(s). It's  also accompanied  with the grief of the families of the victim(s) who are informed about their death. What the news media shows is an investigation of the crime scene, but not the life of it's victim(s). A life once lived before their life was taken. They show the interviews conducted with police. The crime scene tape  that ropes off where the crime was committed and  the homicide dectivtive  on site gathering infomation to help them solve the case. But once that's complete and the murder is solved(in some cases). What happens to the families after the crime? What happens when the cameras are turned off and the newspaper headlines turn into archieves?  What happens when this is the story of three little girls who witness the murder of the mother?  My book 3 lbs of pressure tells this story. A story about my life before and after the death of my mom. One that tore apart my family and changed my life forever.

How witnessing my mom's murder changed my life.

At the age of 11, on July 11, 1997, I witnessed the robbery of my mother. She was shot and killed in front of my sister and I. On that day,  my childhood was stolen and  my family was tore apart. I went from a happy little girl with a bubbly personality to a confused and scared adolescent who learned  how to wear mask to cover up the pain that I felt from within.  The night my mom was killed was the last time I would share a home with my family. This moment was the last time my mom, dad, my sisters and  I would be together. This was the last memory of the home we shared together. This was the moment that would changed our lives forever.

Be pure at heart

God is seeking people who are pure at heart. (Matthew 5:Eight) a person who has a pure hear, who wants to serve God wholeheartedly. Having a pure heart starts with paying attention to our thoughts, b/c from our thoughts come our words, our emotions, our attitudes, and our motives. -Joyce Meyer

Wandering in the wilderness

Wandering in the wilderness can be a gift if we have the right perspective. The wilderness is a temporary place where God leads us to build us (our faith and endurance). But our stay can last longer than  expected  if we do not learn the lessons in its purpose.

1. You don't have to be in control (let go and let God) Trust God 🙏
2. The unfamiliar is where you grow the most 🤔...
3. Be open to new experiences🤗
4. Don't  be rebellious and have disbelief😧😣
5. The wilderness is not your home, it's temporary place🏠
6. Don't compare the past to your present😷
7. Have a religious detox😝
8. Be grateful😀, don't complain

Are You Independent or Interdependent???

Our relationship with God should be interdependent and not independent.  We must learn that apart from God we are helpless and hopeless. When we choose independence over interdependence we choose to leave out God out of our lives. And when we do this, we can no longer advance His kingdom because we are now outside of His will (Remember: God never walks away from us, we walk away from God).  But when we choose to be interdependent, we choose a relationship were we work together. We learn  the trueness of what it means to have a relationship with God. We learn that God is not looking for us to be perfect but honest in our relationship with Him. There is no guilt or shame present, just love. An unconditional pure intimacy kind of love.  One that no matter how far you may feel like you are away from God, He is right there with you through it all . He is there in your mess and He is there when you are blessed.  All He asks for is total dependency on Him and humility in your heart. This is the foundation of a growing relationship with God. So
be interdependent in your personal relationship and watch Him change your life.

The Goal is to grow in your relationship with Christ changing the relationship you have with others.    -Shera B.

Heir- Someone who God has chosen to advance His Kingdom

Becoming an Heir is a process that comes with great responsibility. And with this responsibility we are also given 2crowns

Our 1st crown is a crown of thorns. It represents our righteousness in Jesus Christ. This crown reminds us of our power, authority and salvation through Jesus to lead by His example and advance the kingdom of God.

Our 2nd crown is a rose gold crown. This crown represents our humility and influence. It is tilted to remind us to always remain humble and to adjust our crown (referencing adjust your character). We are set apart with humility not with arrogance and pride. Arrogance and pride is what makes us lose our crown.

The 2crowns are 2gether until they become one. We can not have one crown without the other.

Kingdom Authority

Kingdom authority | God has already made the promise, you have to go and get it | Faith involves movement.

Everything that God has destined for you. He has already given to you. It is located in the heavenly places, so now your job is to draw it down. What God says in the invisible Spiritual realm gets pulled down through faith. Faith is never simply a feeling. Faith always involves your feet. Faith involves movement.

Spiritual Richness

The true children of God are those who let God's Spirit lead them.
Roman 8:Fourteen

Paul encourages believers to be filled with the Spirit of God: "Do not be drunk with wine, which will ruin you, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:Eighteen). When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, your words and deeds will reflect a love and devotion to Christ. When  you are filled with the Holy Spirt, the steps of your life's journey are guided by the Lord. When you allow God's Spirit to work in you and through you, you will be energized and transformed.

Today, allow yourself to be filled with the Spirit of God. And then stand back in amazement as God begins to work miracles in your own life and in the lives of those you love.

The power of God through His Spirit will work within us to the degree that we permit it.

Is it in His will for me

Want to know if it is in His will.... ask these questions??

Does it line up with the goals I have set for myself?
Does it keep in me in alignment with God?
Does it agree with what God says about me?
Is it honest and true to who I am?
Does it keep God 1st place over my life?
Does it add to me or make me better?
Have I examine my motives of why I want it?
Will it  produce peace in my life?

I believe by asking yourself these questions it  will keep you in alignment with His will and keep you on track for your destiny.

Who you do'in life with??

A faith buddy is a person who encourages you and believes in faith with you about what God has promised you.

They also will hold you accountable and remind you of the promises and goals you have set for yourself. They are honest and someone who you can depend on to be vulnerable and transparent with you. They will not give up on you. You can rely on them to be there for you in the best of times and also in the worst of times.  They will speak victory over your life and will pray with and for you. Their goal and purpose are to add to you by being your faith cheering squad.

Who are your faith buddies?  If you have them, thank them. If not, hopefully, they will have these qualities to make them easier to identify and find. I believe a growing team is a winning team.

Reject Rejection as God protection

David believed that with God's help, he could slay the giant Goliath. But his brother Eliab accused him of presumption and having an evil heart.( I Samuel 17:Twenty-eight) Eliab's accusations came from a jealous attitude towards David. He tried to make David feel small and worthless. David was a wise young man, and his response to Eliab was an important key to his future: "David turned away from Eliab.( 1 Samuel 17: Thirty)

When we take a step of faith to do something for God or to help hurting people, Satan attacks. He often works through someone we love to make us feel worthless, rejected, unacceptable, inept, or out of place. We must stand against these attacks an keep our keep our eyes on God and His direction to us, but Satan comes against us with fears- often with fears about ourselves and our abilities.

David's older brothers did not include David in the things they did because they thought he was too young  and they probably were jealous of him. As a result, I am sure he felt rejected. Many times God will choose to use people who have felt rejected and been excluded. He selects those whom society would reject in order to show Himself strong. He also purposely chooses what the world would call "weak and foolish" so no one takes the credit that is due to Him alone. (1Corin 1:26-Twenty-nine)

If you have been rejected or ill-treated, I encourage you to do as David did. Turn away from it! Forgive your enemies, and do not let offense fill your heart. Do not pay attention to what the devil is trying to do; keep your eyes on God and follow His instruction. Yes, God can use you to do great things. God is not looking for someone with ability, but someone with availability, He is not looking for someone with perfect attributes, but someone with a perfect heart towards Him. Keep your heart pure by refusing to allow hatred, strife, offense, bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness to dwell in it.

Always believe what God says about you above your own feelings about yourself and above what others have to say. God says you belong to a Kingdom, You belong to Him. He loves you and will work through you if you will simply let Him. You are special to God. You have infinite worth and value. Perhaps the world would not consider you usable material for God, but he sees differently than the world does. Say, " Here I am God, use me," and watch Him go to work!

It's time to SLAY.........

It's time to slay.......the enemy

David said The Lord Who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliever me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go and the Lord be with you!   Samuel 17:Thirty-seven

When David volunteered to fight Goliath. He did it with no encouragement. Everyone around him, even his brothers discouraged  him and  told him not to fight. They told him he would lose if he stepped up to the challenge. They questioned his age and  his ability base on their own personal fear of Goliath and lack of faith in themselves.  What they did not know is that David had a secret weapon. He knew that he would not have to fight this battle alone. He did not fear the fight  because David knew God was with Him. So he encouraged himself to slay the enemy.

There may be people that will try to come against you and doubt your abilities to fight in a battle that you are gifted to win. The enemy's goal is to defeat  and discourage you first, hoping that you will give up and walk away. He wants you to count yourself out before the fight starts so that  you will not find your true power. That you are not alone in the battle. All of your battles were marked -defeated-before the fight started. Because God has given you victory over your enemies.  (For the battle is not yours alone, it's the Lord's). So when discouragement comes against you trying to defeat you before the fights starts ... shake it off ,move forward and encourage yourself. Run towards the battle with victory on your mind and a praise in your heart trusting  God and putting all of your faith and confidence in Him to lead you to victory by helping you slay the enemy.

There's no need to remind others of what you already know.  -Shera B.

No one may encourage you to defeat the enemy that they are afraid of. But all will cheer when you win and the enemy is defeated. -Shera B.
